Mike,

    If you don't want to limit your market, however, then a non-.NET 
approach IMO is the way to go server-side-wise.
    J2EE works great on Linux, Solaris,  Windows, and Mac OS X. How can 
you beat that?

Don't forget the IBM platforms: I'm moving my first steps in running 
Expresso on an IBM iseries... Sure, it's not the cheapest platform, but 
that's what we have, and it seems to work pretty well.
