We are pleased to announce that a beta implementation of Expresso
integration with Struts 1.1. is now available for download. Download
freely from: http://www.jcorporate.com/product/expresso.html > Download
link.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Peter Pilgrim, Expresso Core
Developer for his effort to produce this excellent work! :)

This version of Expresso Framework should be treated as a standalone
*test* release. This version integrates, the Struts 1.1 beta 3 release
from Jakarta Apache project for the first time. The download has an
Expresso Framework version between 5.0.1 and the CVS (from mid February
2003), so expect some differences from the present release of Expresso.
Since Expresso 5.0X is closed to new features for stability purposes,
the Struts 1.1 integration will be incorporated into the next Expresso
release, version 5.1.

We encourage as many developers to look at the Struts 1.1 Expresso
integration as possible. You should try to compile your applications
against this release. Please report bugs to the mailing list
opensource at jcorporate.com or the main Expresso Forum list.

Struts 1.1 brings a lot of new features

* Better XML configuration
* Plug-ins
* Request Processor
* Global Exceptions
* Dynamic Form Beans and Dyna Beans
* Struts Validation
* Commons Beans Utils Introspection
* Action Messages
* Modules
* As well as the Struts Action and Action Form, among others.

After downloading the file, please read the file
/WEB-INF/src/README-STRUTS-1.1b3.txt. The JAR file contains precompiled
Java classes and source file, so you dont have to do build the software.
It has the Struts 1.1 jar and resources. There is also a ANT build file
/WEB-INF/src/com/jcorporate/expresso/build.xml. There is, however, no
javadoc delivered in the bundle, you can build this yourself with the
ANT file. For more information on Struts 1.1 see
http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/

We look forward to your comments here on this listserv.

Regards
The Expresso Team
