Java Community Awards Nominations,
It is my pleasure to nominate Michael Rimov for a Java Community Award for his leadership of the open source framework "Expresso" http://www.jcorporate.com/econtent/Content.do?state=template&template=2&resource=636&db=default (you need a free registration to access these URLs).
In the past year, Michael has been the lead developer of the Expresso framework, simultaneously supporting existing users while developing an impressive new set of features in the 5.x release, including a transition to the JSP standard tag library (JSTL) and the introduction of component-based architecture for dropping applications into the framework.
During this time, Michael composed and arbitrated a road map for the future of Expresso, documenting how it will improve in the short-term, http://www.jcorporate.com/econtent/Content.do?state=resource&resource=840 as well as in the long term: http://www.jcorporate.com/econtent/Content.do?state=resource&resource=773 and he is hard at work turning this vision into reality.
Michael typically answers dozens of questions each week in support forums, often with a touch of humor and humility. A brief review of mailing list archives shows how helpful he is: http://mail.jcorporate.com/pipermail/opensource/
In summary, Michael is a wonderful community leader as well as an excellent software architect. His selection to receive a Java Community Award would be a fitting recognition of his contribution to the community.
