I've seen some really bad OSS projects that have given me nothing but a time 
suck. But I agree with your thought, and as more OSS projects mature and 
gain popularity by offering a good foundation for building solutions and 
solving problems, the more a company may be apt to adopt them. So, just like 
any commercial offering, you have to do the proper due diligence and if it 
fits and keeps your company from creating and managing custom code, all the 
better!
