Hey All,
I've got a problem with the Changelog as it currently stands. We now have
14 versions in it, and although it's fairly easy to figure out what happens
in each release, it gets confusing when trying to get all the information
together. I'd like to propose the following changes:
1 - When beta-testing, we log each change for each ea release. When we go
to make a final release, we roll all of those into one 'version'
release. Example:
While Beta Testing:
Expresso 5.1 ea-1
Expresso 5.1 ea-2
Expresso 5.1 ea-2
Expresso 5.1 RC-1
All listed separately in the changelog.
But when 5.1 is released. All that's listed is:
Expresso 5.1
Everything has been rolled into it. So it now becomes 'all changes since
Expresso 5.0.5 (the last major release)'
2 - I would like to archive all changes between major releases. So we
would archive Expresso 5.0 changes since 4.0.2, while keeping 5.1, 5.2,
5.3... when we hit 6.0, we archive the 5.0 series... or SOMETHING like
that. :) It's late.
Anyway, what do people think of these ideas?
-Mike
