[Opensource] interested in DBObject being integrated with Luc ene for full text search?

That makes sense to me and kinda what I was thinking would be the best way
to go. I'm not sure I'm knowledgeable enough right now for that task,
though. I need to look into other engines to design a framework properly.

Anyone have knowledge in this area?

Mike,

Peter Pilgrim & I already did some integration work with eForum... you can
check out the code if it would help.

I would rather not have it directly as part of the Expresso project, but
what I WOULD like to see is a framework that can abstract the Lucene Search
Engine and provide a generic Lucene to DBObject 'bridge'. This would then
be released as the finalization of the eSearch project. [Since Giovanni
had already created a spider, there's some good base code in there, we just
need to abstract the Lucene search engine to allow 'pluggable' guts of the
engine.

This make sense of what I'm asking for?
