I feel the same way about WinCVS. Your IDE probably has cvs built in - works
good for me (using Eclipse)...

I have too many problems using WinCVS personally. I use
the cvs commands
from the command line. I tried just now and it did take
an unusually long
time to connect and update. Maybe the GUI is timing out before the
command line? If you try again and it fails, try the command line.
