We have planning in the works for Struts 1.1 integration - have a look
at the Roadmap under the Expresso Documentation.
In the interest of stability we'd thought it was appropriate to wait
until after 4.1 was released since 1.1 is as of this time in beta. Are
you interested in volunteering to contribute to the task of Struts 1.1
integration? Anyone that wants to work on this let us know here and
perhaps a few people can work on it together.
Thanks for forwarding Craig's response to this list - I was thinking of
doing it myself because its important here since Expresso integrates
with Struts. With the release of the public draft for JSR 127 (JSF), you
might have noticed on the Struts list (Aug/30) I was the first person to
ask Craig (he's lead dev on both projects) how he see things happening
as related to a good integration between Struts and JavaServer Faces and
how the spec might influence the future direction of Struts. Craig's
response that Raul forwarded to this list is important and I encourage
everyone to have a read of it.
So to answer your question about the interaction with JavaServer Faces /
struts 1.1 be possible in future releases of Expresso - you can count on
it. :) Of course, the evolution of the JSR 127 draft will determine the
schedule as will the importance of JSF to this community.
