   I have hit this error a bunch of times, what you have to do is add: <%@
page import="com.jcorporate.expresso.core.db.DBException" %> 
<%@ page import="com.jcorporate.expresso.core.jsdkapi.GenericSession"%> 

at the declaration part of the expresso/jsp/properSetup.
