[Opensource] Retrieving URLs from databases

Hi there,

when retrieving text from my mySQL database and this text is containing html links or other html tags it just displays them on the screen. Is there a flag or a configuration attribute that I have to set for not parsing my html links to text? Or will it be very difficult, like overriding existing classes?
