[Opensource] isn't it a priority to correct bugs ?

Hi,
I am surprised having read several mails concerning bugs and being
unanswered. Specifically, I sent on oct 16. a mail titled "minor pbs
encountered switching from Expresso 4.02 to 5.0", and saw 2 days later
same bug as one I detected reported by David Gil under title "bug in
update method in 5.0 class JDBCExecutor".
So, this is without contest a bug. How is (or will be) the community of
Expresso users being warned about these bugs and the status of a
correction or turnaround ? I supposed that at least a regular developer or
contributor of Expresso would take it into account, first gathering a
maximum of information or propositions of ways to correct the pb. , and
then really correct the pb. and warn the community.
In the case of the bug in JDBCExecutor, are we still in the first stage of
gathering information ?
In fact, what I mentioned as "minor pbs" for switching to 5.0 have turned
to major pbs because I also encountered performance pbs (may be related to
the opening/releasing of connections which seems to be very different in
Expresso 5.0 ? ) so that I switched back to Expresso 4.02. , and will not
consider trying again Expresso 5.0 before seeing anything moving in this
area. I am sorry for this (this is not good for the community if people
keep old versions), but I have to privilege efficiency. Hope someone make
me change my mind !
