Alternatively use some javascript. Lot less hassle and saves your app-server working it's tits off

Dear Venkata
You can use different jsp for each combo. There is an attribute in combo named "onChange". In onChange u can submit the form in which the combo exists. So u can get the selected value of the combo. This value will be used to get data from the database and At the same time another jsp will be loaded which will contain the combo, which have the data found from the database using the selected value of the previous combo.
If u want some source code i am ready to give u.

hello sir,
I would like to ask a question on jsp, I hope i will
get good reply for it.
When i have done programming using asp, in screens,
where the data is to be populated in a combobox
depending on the selection of the previous combobox,
the screen is getting refreshed , as it is to get data
from the database.
our screens will have more than 6 comboboxes, data
should be populated in a combobox depending on the
selection of the item in the previous combobox and the
data needs to be fetched from the database.
Can you please give me solution- if there is
actually, to avoid screen refreshing - using jsp and
any other tools or scripting languages.
My problem is that user should not feel that the
screen is getting refreshed that many time.
thanking you
with regards
venkat
