[Opensource] jsp question

hello sir,

  I would like to ask a question on jsp, I hope i will
get good reply for it. 

  When i have done programming using asp, in screens, 
  where the data is to be populated in a combobox
depending on the selection of the previous combobox,
the screen is getting refreshed , as it is to get data
from the database.

  our screens will have more than 6 comboboxes, data
should be populated in a combobox depending on the
selection of the item in the previous combobox and the
data needs to be fetched from the database.
 Can you please give me solution-  if there is
actually, to avoid screen refreshing - using jsp and
any other tools or scripting languages. 
 My problem is that user should not feel that the
screen is getting refreshed that many time.
