Just wanted to report that last night I had a few minutes, so I updated my
source tree from CVS, recompiled everything from "clean", and installed
it.  The problems I reported earlier were gone, kaput, not to be found
anywhere.  However, there's now a problem its reporting with the default
database (hsqldb), that I didn't have time to debug or work through.  I'll
want to go through the steps, anyway, of setting up for mysql, so I may do
that rather than get the default hsqldb to work.  I won't, though, have
time to explore this until the weekend.
