[Opensource] Expresso installation problems with JBoss/Tomcat?

OS: RedHat Linux 8.0
JDK: IBM J2SDK 1.4.0.0 (tried with Sun J2SE too)
JBOSS 3.0.4 with Tomcat 4.1.12 bundle installation, working properly.

expresso5-0-2-bin.war or expresso5-0-1-bin.war put into JBOSS's
server/default/deploy causes error during JBOSS Startup

ERROR: invalid console appender config detected, console stream is
loopingShutting down

Which, when Expresso called from browser leads to
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: ConfigManager not initialized

Any clue?
