[Opensource] DBObject and dynamic persistence

Hi,

I had a question about DBObjects in Expresso. Would appreciate an answer.
Does DBObjects support dynamic data-model change? It can for sure create SQL
data-model according to the Java Class structure  defined, but what if some
class gets changed in Java or gets entirely depreciated? Will the persistence
layer detect that and more importantly - is it able to handel the situation? Or
in such cases, developer has to go manually through the DB and fix/patch it? :-(

And if DBObjects is smart enough to handle dynamic changes, could you, please,
point to the place in documentation where this is described? I failed to find :(
