[Opensource] dbconnection problem when i use 2 machines; one the expresso server and another the db server

hi all,

i am having a problem with db connection. The problem is:

- when i have two machines, one with expresso, and another
with db server (ORACLE), and the connection between the
two servers is broken, (i disconnect the ethernet wire);
(in production, sometimes the connection beetween this
two servers is broken by a firewall, :((   )

expresso launch an exception (broken pipe...) and when
i connect again the wire it dont notice it and still produces
exceptions (expresso version 5.02).

It seens to be solved if i use the test query (in expresso
config i use the property dbtest), but i dont like to send
a test query in every query to the db, it must be a performance lack...

anyone has solved this problem???
