[Opensource] lack of functionality of usage of ErrorCollection

I'm trying to reports errors to the user by doing something like coloring
the label of an input red when an error occurs with it's data. Right now,
the usage of ErrorCollection by methods such as checkParamMasks() and
others.
 
How can we support associating an error in the ErrorCollection with a key? I
looked at ErrorCollection, and it supports a label, but I think that ends up
separate collections and is not what we want. Any ideas?
